DENPASAR, STIGMA.CO.ID – The commitment of all the TNI and PNS parishioners in the elections is clear, that is, to be neutral as mandated in the Law of RI No. 34 of 2004 on TNI, where in Section 2 it is clearly affirmed that the Professional Army is an Army that does not have practical politics. That is, the army only follows state politics, taking precedence over the principles of democracy, civil supremacy, human rights, provisions of national law, and ratified international law.
The matter was presented by Pangdam IX/Udayana Mayjen TNI Harfendi, S.I.P., M.Sc., in his reception that was read by Kapok Sahli Pangdam IX/Udayana Briggen TNI Farouk Pakar, M.Han, at the Socialization of the Neutrality of TNI AD on the 2024 elections, Thursday (19/10/2023) in Supardi Aula Makodam IX/Udayana.
Given the importance of neutrality for the success of the democratic test while building the solidity of the unit and realizing the professionalism of the TNI, Pangdam expects all socialization participants to truly understand, live, and implement the neutrality of the TNI in the lives of the soldiers.
At the socialization event, Danpusterad Letjen TNI Teguh Muji Space, S.E., M.M., in his reception read by the Chief of the Socialization Team of the Brigaden TNI Rikas Hidayatullah, S.E., M.M., said that TNI AD is one of the main pillars of land defense and has a very important role in maintaining security and order during the electoral process. Therefore, it is expected that all soldiers and the PNS understand the neutrality of TNI in the 2024 elections. Violations of neutrality will be able to damage the image of the TNI, weaken the stability of the country, and trigger political tensions that can potentially be dangerous for the unity and integrity of nations.
Further, Danpusterad conveyed Kasad’s message to all TNI AD soldiers to implement TNI neutrality as follows: first, not supporting or supporting the political parties and their candidate partners, Second, not providing the facilities, places, and equipment of the AD as a means of campaign, Third, not giving instructions to the families of the TNIAD soldiers in connection with the elections, Fourth, not responding to the results of the quick count in any form, Fifth, the Chief or Commander must act firmly for the soldiers who prove to be engaged in practical politics. Sixth, the soldiers and the PNS will themselves be candidates for the heads of the district and the Legislative so as to resign from the active service of TNI.
Ending his greeting, Danpusterad urged all the soldiers of the TNI AD to remain focused on our primary task of preserving the sovereignty of the country and the integrity of the nation and not to let ourselves get involved in the political constellation ahead of the elections that can interfere with our duty to ensure the smooth running of elections and to remain sensitive to the development of the situation in its territory.
The event was attended by Irdam IX/Udy, Pamen Sahli Pangdam IX/Udy, Asrendam IX/Uddy, Assistants Kasdam IX/Udy, Lo AL, Lo AU, Irutum Itdam IX/Udy, Irutben Itdam IX/Udy, Para Dan/Ka Balakdam IX/Udy, Kasiter Kasrem 163/WSA, as well as the representatives of Babinsa Jajaran Korem 163/WSA, the Pasi Intel, Pasi Ops, and the representatives of Danki Satpur and Satbanpur Province of Bali.
